Winshots System Snapshot :: Getting the "after" System Snapshot
Once you have finished the installation/application testing process (including
a system reboot if required) you have to run System Snapshot again, or if it
is still running just choose the Create Log button.
The second time you run Snapshot it will scan the system again and it will
report on any changes made to the file system. If the install program (or other
application you were testing) was not a DOS exe, com, or bat file, it is also
comparing the stored copies of the essential .INI files (or any other ASCII text
files you've included) with their current contents to report any changes.
Changes to the Registry are also reported. If for some reason you don't want a
report, you can press the Close or Start Over button.
Once the second snapshot of your system is done the following dialog will
appear:
At this point you can select the View Log button to see the report on changes made to your system or you can choose the New button to start a new, "before" system scan. To close the application choose
the Close button.
Note: Once you exit System Snapshot the temporary snapshot files generated by
System Snapshot will be automatically deleted and the only thing left will be
the report file generated by System Snapshot.
